Enterprise Task 5

Write 10 short but informative statements that identify your distinctive ‘positioning’ as a Graphic Designer. Your statements should consider your ambitions, skills and areas of creative interest in relation to the market, your clients, competition and possible collaborators and should be based on the information that you have collected in response to the set tasks.
You will need to compare a list of your skills and services against customer/client needs to those of your competitors, this should help you determine how your company is unique.

1. I want to set up and work as part of a studio with like minded designers.
During this enterprise module I have begun to do this with my creative design
studio InPress.

2. My strength lie in print so would like to peruse a manly print based career, specialising in different types of traditional print.

3.I would like to have a strong relationship with my clients and do a lot of my negotiations in a face to face friendly environment, which other studios may not offer.

4.I would like to be mainly illustration based, I aspired to be like design studios such as The Beautiful Meme and Always with Honor.

5. I would like to used my print and illustration skills and apply it to branding, and publications, working along side companies and clients closely to close, long lasting established relationships.

6.I want to gain as much experience as I can as I all think it will help inform my practice as a designer, I would like to gain placements with small studios with like minded people to me, who will educate me and help me progress in my own design work not just get me to make tea.

7.I want to work on getting my work out their more, everything is about making connections, I feel that I have already started doing this through our enterprise module
with the recent event we put on as InPress. I has already created intrest for future work.

8.I would like to set up a studio in Leeds but still travel a lot and have connections in many places, I feel Leeds is a great place to start up a studio with a good community of designers and artists. Tom and Ollie have proved this with their Leeds based print company Catalogue.

9.As well as being interested in image based designer I also have interests within editorial design, especially focusing on graphics based magazines. Companies like It's Nice That who have an online and print based publication and blog focusing on the current work that is out there, is something I am interested in perusing.

10. I would like to do most of my work in collaboration with other designers and artists, I am really interested in the cross over within different artistic disciplines so would like to work with a range of creatives from fine artists to fashion designers to broaden my knowledge and experience in the creative industry.
