Exhibition Promotion

I have been asked by a group of second year Fine Artist to design their promotion
for their upcoming exhibition they will be holding, which I will also be taking
part in.
The show is called Precious, this is the current working mission statement,

'To make work for this show, considering the basement space and the title precious, which can be interpreted in either a direct or ironic way. Destruction is one way that people could respond to this, as is materially, conceptually etc etc etc. Work should be evaluated with the group in terms of health and safety. This is a group show, so any playful, collaborative or performative ideas to spice up the show are encouraged. All matters are up for discussion, lets not get too precious!'

I worked in collaboration with one of the artists in the show to make sure

 the ideas they wanted to get across for the exhibition was shown with in the promotion, we were working with the idea of what people may stereotypically think of as being precious, bordering on tacky but still with a touch of class,

I started off with trying out some different type faces for the title of the show,

This is the first rough draft,

The final poster will be screen printed on pink paper with gold ink, I have tried to represent this with the pink and yellow colours, the gems will be all different shapes and the cat will have eyes.

This poster got the approval of all the artists involved so I went ahead and finalised the details,

I am going to go ahead and expose this in screen print tomorrow and order the paper so we are ready to go, the plan is to get 250 posters and 500 flyers, this is the paper we are getting,
